Take a step into the dynamic world of power generation – a sector that doesn’t pull its punches, calling for unmatched precision and reliability. It’s a world that needs experts in temperature measurement across its diverse processes and applications.
Let’s ponder this: by 2030, we’re staring down the barrel of a colossal increase in power consumption. Think global usage doubling and usage in developing countries tripling. It’s a pretty staggering picture, right?
This impending tsunami of power demand means Power Generation facilities have to stand firm. They need to be robust, reliable, and ready for the escalating energy demands ahead. This is where we at Thermo Electric Instrumentation take centre stage. Our team of experienced engineers, backed by a rich 60-year heritage in temperature sensing manufacturing, are developing products that not only last the distance but also deliver unparalleled accuracy.
We began with a simple mission: to measure exhaust gas temperatures from aeroplane engines. Today, we take pride in designing, manufacturing, and supplying an extensive suite of temperature sensors, wires, cables, and connectors, customised for a vast array of applications and markets. As innovative and seasoned specialists in temperature measuring solutions, we sit at the cutting edge of temperature sensing technology. Our products consistently shine in the field, providing reliable solutions across the globe.
Our speciality? Industrial Temperature Sensor Manufacturing. Whether you’re in Coal, Gas, Nuclear, Hydro Power, Gas Turbine Plants, or Thermal Power Stations – we’ve got your back.
Let’s zoom in on two of our superstar products: Thermocouple Assemblies and Resistance Temperature Detectors (RTDs). These aren’t just any Thermocouples and RTDs. Each product undergoes rigorous testing to ensure it can withstand the harshest environments and meet stringent global safety standards.
Thermocouples
Imagine two different types of metal wires connected at both ends. When these ends experience different temperatures, a thermoelectromotive force is produced. This force propels the current to flow through the circuit, enabling us to accurately measure the temperature. In power generation, thermocouples are often used in turbines to ensure they are operating within optimal temperature ranges.
Resistance Temperature Detectors (RTDs)
RTD sensors can provide a more accurate measurement in a narrower field of low temperature measurement. However, RTD sensors are not suitable for applications that have high temperatures or high vibrations due to their fragile construction. In power generation, RTDs are invaluable for monitoring temperatures where stability and safety are paramount.
